Excellent

Script has a maximum of three minor errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation.
Format is correct. All parts of script are complete!
Good

Script has 4-7 distracting errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, but overall meaning is still clear. Format is mostly correct and script is complete.
Fair

There are 8-10 distracting errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. Format is not entirely correct.
Poor

There are more than 10 errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. that are distracting to the reader. Script may be incomplete or the format may be incorrect.

Information is relevant, complete, and reads like a real news report. All facts are correct!
Good

News cast covers most of the content. A good amount of scientific data is included. Report either leaves out some key details or some details are incorrect.

News cast covers a fair amount of the content. Minimal scientific data is included. Report either leaves out a number of key details or a number of details are incorrect.
Poor

News cast is incomplete.
May have no scientific data included, be missing too many key details, or have major errors in content.
Performance

Excellent

The group appears to have rehearsed the presentation thoroughly, and the performance flows smoothly. All members are confident in their roles.
Good

The group is fairly well organized and has done a nice job. It is apparent that they have rehearsed. There are a few areas where the presentation does not flow smoothly.
Fair

The group is very unorganized. Members do not know what they are supposed to do.
Poor

The group shows no previous preparation.
Presentation/individual

Excellent

Presenter was very impressive with clear voice, eye contact, and full development of the news report.
Good

Presenter had a clear voice, made satisfactory eye contact with audience, and the length was satisfactory.
Fair

One of the following occurred:
-Presentation was too short
-Little to no eye contact -Voice was unclear
Poor

Two or more of the following occurred:
-Presentation was too short
-Little to no eye contact
-Voice was unclear

**If group member does not participate in presentation, a score of 0 will be recorded.
Individual Participation

Excellent

Group member willingly and enthusiastically participated in the project. Contributions were creative and effort was outstanding.
Good

Group member was a positive participant but could have put more effort/creativity into the project.
Fair

Group member had to be redirected several times to work with the group on the project.
Poor

Group member was very disruptive and/or had to be redirected numerous times.

**If group member refused to work on the project, a score of 0 will be recorded.
