Virus/Bacteria Report Virus/Bacteria Report Students need to pick a virus or bacteria and complete a research report on it. Students will also need a visual to accompany the report. Rubric Code: ZX7B8C2 By kwissman Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Science Type: Project Grade Levels: 6-8

Virus/Bacteria Report
	10 pts	15 pts	20 pts
Completion Report must be at least 2 pages typed. Project must have a visual to accompany it.	10 Student has the visual only and no report or the report and no visual.	15 Student has both the report and visual, but they are not neat and has limited or partial information.	20 Student has both the report and the visual and they have all key information and are neat and presentable.
Report Must include a title page with the name of the virus, your name, and date due; the origination of the virus; the year it became known; vaccinations and/or cures for it, who it affects, and the part of the body that it attacks.	10 Student is missing four or more pieces of needed information and/or lacks the title page.	15 Student is missing two to three pieces of needed information. Title page lacks some of the requirements.	20 Student has all required facts for the content of the paper. Title page is correct.
Organization The information in the report flows natural when reading it.	10 Paper is not easy to read or follow. Information has no pattern and is hard to follow.	15 Student has most things in order in paper, but some things are not in an order that flows well.	20 Student has everything in an organized format. Paper appears easy to read and flows naturally.
Mechanics Grammar & spelling.	10 Student has more than seven spelling, capitalization, or punctuation errors.	15 Student has five to seven spelling, capitalization, or punctuation errors.	20 Student has four or fewer errors in the report.
Visual Visual can include a poster with fun facts and pictures of and related to the virus/bacteria; a diorama model of the virus; a powerpoint presentation including fun facts and pictures; or you can choose a different type of visual that needs to be approved.	10 Student has a visual but, it does not replicate the virus/bacteria well nor does it meet all requirements.	15 Student has a visual, but it is not interesting and is missing some required information.	20 Student has a visual and it contains all needed information and replicates their virus/bacteria very well.
