Poster rubric:DESIGN A ROOM IN THE HOUSE
The students will create a poster that depicts a baby's room. They will use grid paper to lay out the room by using the 1 square equals one foot. They will select furniture, color theme, etc. Each item will be labeled on the poster. The written portion of the report will be a one-page double spaced report detailing their room and design.

The poster includes all information relevant to the topic. The poster is creative and clear. The student added information above what was taught in class or required for assignment.

Poor
Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of doing. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.
Fair
Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of accomplishing. It is evident that the work was rushed and some areas are not complete.
Good
The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of accomplishing. It is evident that time and thought was put into this poster.
Exceeds
The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.
Written summary
Poor
Report was not submitted with poster, not double spaced typed and handed in late with 10 or more grammatical errors. Sentence structure poor & report confusing, left some gaps. Little use of descriptive terms.
Fair
Report was submitted with poster but did not cover basic information. Report was either not typed, double-spaced and had over 8 to 9 grammatical errors. Sentence structure was basic, did not use descriptive terms to explain room to the reader.
Good
Report was submitted with poster. Used correct format. Used descriptive terms to explain areas in the room. Sentence structure was better than average. Five to 7 grammatical errors. Some gaps or questions with explanation on room.
Exceeds
Report was of exceptional quality as the student went above and beyond what was expected of them. Report was correctly formatted, with 0-4 grammatical errors. Sentence structure and thought process left no gaps when explaining room.
illustrations/pictures
Poor
Five or less illustrations or pictures on poster relating to room. Not neatly cut out or attached to the poster.
Fair
Six to seven illustrations or pictures on poster related to the room. Attached to poster but not in order, etc.
Good
Eight to nine illustrations or pictures related to the topic. Uniform size, cut neatly and glued neatly on to poster in the correct place.
Exceeds
Ten or more illustrations or pictures related to the room. Pictures cut neatly and in uniform size. Glue neatly on the poster in the corresponding places.
Diagram of room
Poor
Room diagram was not done according to 1 square equals 1 foot. Room was bigger than recommended size. Furniture placed in room without regard to doors, windows, etc.
Messy, items not labeled. Disregard to what items are needed in a baby's room. Items not labeled.

Room diagram was done according to scale and recommended size but furniture is not to scale. Messy, items not labeled. Some items but not all that are needed in the room. Not all items are labeled

Thought process indicates that student understand what is needed to take care of an infant in regards to furniture. The diagram is neat and well there is a reason to the placement of furniture. Some items labeled but not all of them.
Exceeds
The diagram is well thought out with the items needed to take care of an infant. Items are labelled neatly. Student went above and beyond to complete project and worked up to their potential.
