Performance	not done Absent/unexcused when lab is done	Poor Students attempts to do lab without reading or following directions, disregards safety. Makes errors in following directions	Fair Students needs constant assistance/teacher prompting to stay on task, may need constant reminders of safety.	Good Students follows written directions, may make minor safety infractions. Student may ask questions before proceeding.	Excellent Students independently follows all directions as written or with permission to change written directions, adheres to all safety rules.
Observations	not done Absent/unexcused when lab is done	Poor Required work is incomplete and inaccurate.	Fair Students partially record data and show lack of accuracy/care in making observations and recording data. Diagram (if required) is inaccurate and incomplete.	Good Students answer questions completely and accurately. Students make minor mistakes in recording data. Diagrams are mostly complete and accurate.	Excellent Student answers questions completely and accurately records all required data and charts/graphs if required. Includes diagrams if required.
Compliance	not done Absent/unexcused when lab is done	Poor Directions were not followed and materials were mishandled and/or not used appropriately.Some materials not cleaned up and stored away properly. Lab Etiquette Students will have 2 points deducted for each of the following infractions. Talking loudly and being disruptive during the lab. Walking around and playing ion the lab.
