Creativity/Design	Poor Student spent little to no time on design. It lacked any care or detail. Poor outcome as no effort.	Fair Student has put in a fair amount of effort to designing and drawing gnome. Could have thought more about presentation of drawing and more detail.	Good student has submitted an excellent design for their gnomes, they have included a lot of detail and presentation of work is of high quality.
Construction	Poor Student has not joined the clay well. Joins can be easily seen and are not strong or have already broken. No detail, clay has not been smoothed. Very little time or effort evident.	Fair Student has put in a good effort, joins are reasonable, but could be stronger. There is some detail, but the gnome could have more time taken to smooth out, and add more detail.	Good Construction of this piece is good evidence of student watching and learning from demonstrations and discussions. detail that was added gave a lot of character to the gnome.
