Alternative Energy Final (Model) Nanotechnology (Model) Students are to build a detailed, working model of an idea discussed in Alternative Energy class. This model can represent any area of alternative energy. Students are to include all major components of this idea in their model design, neatly labeling each aspect of the model in order to clearly communicate this idea. Students are to utilize at least 3 different materials for this design. This model will be accompanied by an oral explanation to the class and write-up for teacher. Variety of materials used above what was required. Even without labels the model clearly communicates the idea.
Components	Level 1 Missing 3 or more major parts of the model.	Level 2 Some major parts present of the model. Missing 2.	Level 3 Most major parts of the model present. Missing 1.	Level 4 All major parts present.
Labels	Level 1 Components are not labeled or are simply labeled incorrectly.	Level 2 Some components are not labeled or are labeled incorrectly. Labels are messy. Labels are neat and do not make model appear cluttered.
Presentation of Model	Level 1 Presentation includes a very incomplete and/or inaccurate explanation of the model/topic.	Level 2 Presentation includes a partial or vague explanation of the model/topic.	Level 3 Presentation is thorough, including a satisfactory explanation of the model/topic.	Level 4 Presentation is thorough and interesting/creative, including a clear and accurate explanation of the model/topic.
