You will need to talk about the 5 points in the instruction sheet. You will answer the above points using BOTH a poster and a Prezi display. The two media types should compliment each other and NOT be a repeat of all of the information above in both parts.

Students are to build a detailed, working model of an idea discussed in Alternative Energy class. This model can represent any area of alternative energy. Students are to include all major components of this idea in their model design, neatly labeling each aspect of the model in order to clearly communicate this idea. Students are to utilize at least 3 different materials for this design. This model will be accompanied by an oral explanation to the class and write-up for teacher.

Ecosystems are composed of a variety of biotic and abiotic factors that function in an interrelated fashion. In this assignment you will demonstrate your understanding of the exchange of energy and matter within the biosphere by designing and building your own ecosystem. Essentially you are creating a biosphere in a bottle that will be closed off and self sustaining. This project is to be done in groups of 2.

16 rubric Popsicle Stick Bridge Building       popup preview  
Bridge will be made out of popsicle sticks and glue. Sticks may not be cut .You may use up to 200 sticks. The bridge must span a distance of 14 inches (needs to be a little longer for testing ) and must hold a twenty pound weight for at least a full minute, while the bridge is at least one foot above the floor. In addition to meeting the weight bearing and structural requirements, the bridge will also be judged on its aesthetics, so be creative.
