The student's interview notes were either nonexistent or poorly done. Partial answers were written down, and the narrative could not be followed from the notes.

The student's interview notes were not very detailed, but the narrative could be understood. The answers were written down in only paraphrases and there were either few, if any, direct quotes.
Good
The student's interview notes showed that he took detailed notes. There were a number of direct quotes which were copied down exactly as the subject had stated them. Great attention was paid to the interview!
News story content

There were very few details to expound upon the reason for the interview. There were no quotes and no paraphrased information.
Fair
Student only used three direct quotes and while they did include key information to expound on the story, more information could have been included.
Good
Student used more than three direct quotes and included key points of information which would allow the reader to easily follow and understand the content of the story.

There were more than five grammar and/or spelling mistakes in the news stories.

The news stories had three to five grammar and/or spelling mistakes.
