Daily Participation Rubric 
Each class period you will receive a class participation grade based on the criteria below. After 5 class periods, your class participation grade will be averaged and entered into School Tool for a total of 5 grades for participation each marking period.

Student Focus

OUTSTANDING

Student pays attention to the instructions and the lesson at hand. Student only speaks productively and does not engage in distracting behavior.
SATISFACTORY

Student mostly pays attention to the instructions and the lesson at hand, but may need to be minimally reprimanded/or refocused due to distracting behavior.
UNSATISFACTORY

Student is hardly focused and needs several reminders to get focused. Distracting behavior is obvious to all.
In-Class Activities

OUTSTANDING

Student is able to provide significant evidence of utilization of time during the in-class activities (including preparedness, classwork, exit tickets, productive participant in class and group discussions, etc.).
SATISFACTORY

Student is able to provide some evidence of utilization of time during the in-class activities and classwork, but displays minimal effort (including class and group discussions) and/or work is incomplete.
UNSATISFACTORY

Student does not produce any work to reflect the class period and does not (or is unable to) participate in class and group discussions.
Use of Technology

OUTSTANDING

Student uses the computer, internet, and technology (i.e. cellphone, headphones, etc.) as instructed and for in-class activities only.
SATISFACTORY

Student needs minimal reminders about the class technology policy (including cellphones, headphones, etc.) and needs to refocus on in-class activities.
UNSATISFACTORY

Student uses technology inappropriately and/or needs constant reminders to stay off of technology and focus on in-class activities.
