Response is short and contains many errors in Conventions.

Above Average

Student makes a text-to-self, (my life) text-to-text,(other books) or text-to-world connection at least 75% of the time.
Average

Student makes a text-to-self, text-to-text, or text-to-world connection at least 50% of the time.
Below Average

Student attempts to make a text-to-self, text-to-text, or text-to-world connection at least 25% of the time.
Poor

Student does not make a text-to-self, text-to-text, or text-to-world connection when possible.
Prediction

Above Average

Student has used previous knowledge of the story to make a prediciton that makes sense. Reasons for predicition are discussed.
Average

Student makes a believable prediction, but does not include any reasons for such event(s).
Below Average

Student makes a predicition; however, it does not align with facts in the story.
