Main historical event is studied and discussed. It's obvious the student understood what the important events was, why it was important, and was thorough.

Historical events are entirely or inaccurate. No description or explanation is given.
Interesting Facts or Ideas

Excellent

Clearly states what they feel were the most important or interesting facts or ideas that they discovered in the chapter, and why they feel these are important. The student has been thorough and can provide a good argument for why those facts/ideas should be considered important.

Clearly states several important facts or ideas in a way that is informative to the reader.

Facts or ideas are included but should be marked more clearly and explanations need to be given.

Illustrations relate well to the information and help the reader understand it better. Each one is framed neatly and has a neat and easy-to-read title or caption. It is easy to understand why that photo or illustration was placed there. They are either printed out from another source or--if hand drawn--are easy to identify and understand. Cut outs have an equal margin around all sides and are smooth and straight.

Each one is clearly related to the content and has captions or titles. They are neat and easy to identify, whether printed or hand drawn.

Illustrations are hard to identify or understand and may not appear to be related to the content. Many are not labeled or captioned. Cut outs are messy.
