Grip Technique
Poor (Level 1)
Hands are in different positions throughout the skill.
Fair (Level 2)
Hands are together and student has little control of stick
Good (Level 3)
Hands are at least hip width apart with moderate control of stick
Excellent (Level 4)
Hands are at least hip width apart. Top hand is palm down and bottom hand has palm up, student has full control of stick.
Carrying the Puck
Poor (Level 1)
Student rarely keeps puck in center of blade moving along the floor keeping stick/puck contact with short taps or pushes.
Fair (Level 2)
Student sometimes keeps puck in center of blade moving along the floor keeping stick/puck contact with short taps or pushes.
Good (Level 3)
Student frequently keeps puck in center of blade moving along the floor keeping stick/puck contact with short taps or pushes.
Excellent (Level 4)
Student always keeps puck in center of blade moving along the floor keeping stick/puck contact with short taps or pushes.
Stick Handling Technique
Poor (Level 1)
Rarely keeps the puck in front while keeping head up and using short taps on the stick.Rarely only uses one side of the stick blade.
Fair (Level 2)
Sometimes keeps the puck in front while keeping head up and using short taps on the stick. Sometimes uses both sides of the blade.
Good (Level 3)
Frequently keeps the puck in front while keeping head up and using short taps on the stick.Frequently uses both sides of the blade..

Always keeps the puck in front while keeping head up and using short taps on the stick. Always uses both sides of the blade.
Safety
Poor (Level 1)
Rarely carries the stick in a safe manner and high sticks more than 3 times in a game.
Fair (Level 2)
Sometimes uses the stick in a safe manner and high sticks 2 to 3 times in a game.
Good (Level 3)
Usually uses the stick in a safe manner and high sticks 1 time or less in a game.
Excellent (Level 4)
Always holds the stick in a safe manner, and never high sticks.
Teamwork & Effort
Poor (Level 1)
Rarely particpates actively in games.
Fair (Level 2)
Does not follow rules and is not a good sport. Does not try.
Good (Level 3)
Tries to follow game rules but does not always display good sportsmanship.
Excellent (Level 4)
Follows game rules and is a good sport. Always tries hard during activities.
Passing
Poor (Level 1)
Rarely looks to pass, shoots the puck down the floor.
Fair (Level 2)
Keeps head down when passing , does not always go to the target, displays little accuracy.
Good (Level 3)
Pases the puck effectively to teammates, displays proper technique
Excellent (Level 4)
Constantly makes righ decisions .Passes are accurate, well timed,shows great deal ability to get other teammates involved.
Shooting
Poor (Level 1)
Rarely looks to score. Shots are rarely accurate or well timed Seldom uses a variety of shots.
Fair (Level 2)
Sometimes looks to score. Shots are sometimes accurate or effective. At times uses a variety of shots.
Good (Level 3)
Demonstrates good scoring ability Frequently looks to score. Understands proper shot selection. Shots are accurate or effective . Uses a variety of shots.
Excellent (Level 4)
Demonstrates great scoring ability. Always looking to score and demonstrates a great understanding of proper shot selection.
