Content	Meeting Standard Comments or pictures are directly related to the topic. You use personal examples to support your comments. You show understanding and are able to communicate your ideas.	Approaching Standard Your journal is limited in detail and depth. Generally, you have attempted to understand and communicate ideas in writing. Writing is occasionally insightful and shows some understanding of ideas.	Beginning Standard Your journal is not much related to the required topic. You did not understand or communicate ideas in writing or drawings clearly. Writing or drawings lacks insight and understanding of ideas. There are no examples to support your response.
Required Entries	Meeting Standard Journal and/or drawings is legible, neat, and gramatically correct.	Approaching Standard Some grammatical errors are apparent and/or drawings are messy.	Beginning Standard Journal is poorly written or drawings are not present.
