Development of a composite image for a minimum of two printing plates.

Beginning

Little or no evidence of understanding and/or execution of objective. Student has developed their plates with little thought or consideration to layout and design.
Developing

Less than average understanding and/or execution of objective. Student has developed their plates with some good thought and consideration to layout and design.
Accomplished

Proficiency evident. Student has developed their plates with some excellent thought and consideration to layout and design.
Mastery

Exhibits definitive care, effort & skill in all aspects. Student has created plates that are well developed. Excellent thought and consideration to layout and design. Student created a set of three plates for their series.
Plate preparation and stability
20 pts

Beginning

Little or no evidence of understanding and/or execution of objective. Collage materials not properly secured to the plate causing them to lift off during printing process.
Developing

Less than average understanding and/or execution of objective. A few collage materials lifting off the plate during printing which has effected the final print.
Accomplished

Proficiency evident. Collage materials well secured with a minimum of lifting off of the plate during printing. Student occasionally checked the state of their plate after print/wash cycles and re-sealed once or twice.
Mastery

Exhibits definitive care, effort & skill in all aspects. Collage materials firmly secured, no lifting off the plate during printing. Student checked the state of their plate after every printing/wash cycle to make sure things remained secure and re-sealed plate as needed.

All prints in the edition are turned in. 4 or more of the prints are good quality, with even coverage and crisp edges . The prints are mostly titled, signed, numbered and dated correctly in pencil.
Accomplished

All prints in the edition are turned in. 6 or more of the prints are of very good quality, with even paint coverage and crisp edges. Most of the prints are titled, signed/ dated, and numbered.
Mastery

All prints in the edtion are turned and all are of excellent quality. All parts of the image and the edges of the block are crisp and clear. All of the prints are titled, signed/dated, and numbered.
