Students present a basic overview of the topic, but requires more effort to demonstrate true understanding of the articles presented.
Beginning to Meet Expectations

Students present an overview of the biases and a few inferences based on the information to demonstrate some understanding of how they were presented in the articles.
Meets Expectations

Students present interesting information with some meaningful inferences about the biases & how they were presented in the articles.
Exceeds Expectations

Students present engaging information in a synthesized manner to demonstrate personal thinking about the information. Inferences show deeper grasp of the biases and their presentation in the articles.
Organization

Developing

Audience could use much more sequence of information for easier following.

Presentation structure is a basic slide show.
Beginning to Meet Expectations

Audience could use some more sequencing for easier following of information.

Presentation structure is mostly basic, with one or two noticeable experimentations.
Meets Expectations

Group presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow.

Presentation structure has been experimented with, some effort. (ex. HOOK-->MEAT-->PAYOFF)
Exceeds Expectations

Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.

Group presents basic information and examples from the text which demonstrate surface understanding of one or each.

Group presents some information that indicates understanding/inference of article and text. Some deep thinking demonstrated.
Exceeds Expectations

Group demonstrates full understanding of issues/biases and how they affect the reader's perspectives on the topic. Is able to fully explain with elaboration.
Graphics

Developing

Group use of graphics or slides is either not visually appealing or is hard to read.
Beginning to Meet Expectations

Group has used graphics or layout that support text but that are pretty basic.
Meets Expectations

Group has layout and graphics that are visually appealing, relate to text, and add to the understanding of material being presented.
Exceeds Expectations

Group's presentation is visually and graphically appealing and layout enhances understanding of material being presented.
Mechanics

Developing

Group's slides have 3+ or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors. Several headings require appropriate capitalization.
Beginning to Meet Expectations

Google Slides have two misspellings and/or grammatical errors. Two headings missing appropriate capitalization.
Meets Expectations

Google Slides have one misspelling and/or grammatical area to be improved. One Capitalization rule needs revisiting for one heading.
Exceeds Expectations

Google Slides have no misspellings or grammatical errors. Capitalization is all correct for headings.
Eye Contact/Stage Use (GROUP)

Developing

Student reads all of report with little to no eye contact with most areas of the audience. Student remains in a fixed position throughout.
Beginning to Meet Expectations

Student occasionally uses eye contact, or only looks at certain areas of the audience, but still reads most of report. Student attempts minimal stage use.
Meets Expectations

Student maintains eye contact most of the time with all areas of the audience but frequently returns to notes. Student uses stage in a mostly engaging manner.
Exceeds Expectations

Student maintains eye contact with all areas of the audience, seldom returning to notes. Student creatively uses the classroom as a stage to interact with their audience.
Speaking (IND.)

Developing

Student mumbles, uses a pace that is either too slow or too quick, requires extra practice to pronounce terms, or is too dependent upon slides.
Beginning to Meet Expectations

Student's voice is low and/or the student speaks too quickly or slowly often enough to distract the audience. Student could use some extra time to pronounce a few words. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation.
Meets Expectations

Student's voice is clear and the pace is appropriate to the presentation. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation.
Exceeds Expectations

Student uses a clear voice and appropriate pace, as well as correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation. Professional tone of voice, including voice inflection and purposeful pausing for impact.
