Pottery 1 : ZENTANGLE TILES Pottery 1 : ZENTANGLE TILES Make 6-9 4x4 inch highly textured slab tile. Based on your detailed sketches, you will create a tile that show relief, pattern, lines, shapes, and color. Make tile at least 3/8 inch thick but not more than 1/2 inch. The following techniques: Relief, Sgraffito, Incising, Impression, Stamping, subtractive and additive experimentation with texture. All edges should be smooth,, name should be on bottom of tiles. Incising/Carving means cutting into the clay surface and involves a wide range of approaches such as, subtle or bold. Incising can occur anytime during the process until the work is bisque fired.	Good	Fair	Low performance
Pattern A pattern is a repetition of shapes, lines, or colors repeated in a planned way. You should have evidence of more than one pattern in each of your tiles.	Good	Fair	Low performance
Craftsmanship Craftsmanship shows that you care about your work. There are no rough edges, sloppy glazes, or areas that look unfinished. You have used carving into the slab and adding onto the slab with other designs.	Good	Fair	Low performance
