Write a Rap Song Write/Perform a Rap Song The students will write a rap based on a topic of their choosing. Their rap will be in the style of early rap songs. Creative Lyric Writing (Rap)
	Superior 5 pts	Excellent 4 pts	Fair 3 pts	Poor 2 pts
Lyrics	Superior The lyrics are interesting, flow with the rhythm and connect with an overall idea.	Excellent Lyrics are interesting, have some flow with rhythm and have some connection to an idea.	Fair Lyrics are starting to gain some interest and related to an idea.	Poor Lyrics clash with the rhythm and have little or no main connective idea.
Tempo / Rhythm	Superior The tempo, rhythm and dynamics complete the overall song.	Excellent Tempo and rhythm are consistent.	Fair Tempo and rhythm are coming together but can be confusing.	Poor The rap is choppy with an unnatural mix of tempo.
Length	Superior Rap length was good.	Excellent Rap length was only partially met.	Fair Rap length was not met.	Poor Rap was started but was not completed.
