Cardboard Sculpture In this unit students will create an object they can't live without. Using only a flat 2-d surface (cardboard) they will create a 3-d object. Rubric Code: PXX899C By cflanagan Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Arts and Design Type: Assessment Grade Levels: 9-12

Planning and Design Project is well thought out. Blue Prints are present. Paper Model is present. Creative and well designed.	Novice No Blue Prints. No Model. No thought or planning	Intern May be missing one, Blue print or model. Some thought and planning, but not much.	Apprentice Has both Blue Print and Model but may be incomplete. Thought and planning are some what present.	Master Both Blue Print and model are complete. Project is well thought out and planned very well.
Construction and Craftsmenship Clean and straight cuts. No visible glue. Neat and clean painting. Sculpture is sturdy and strong.	Novice Sculpture is a disaster. Messy glue, sloppy painting. Sculpture may not stand or is simple unappealing visually.	Intern Sculpture stands. Somewhat messy glue and painting. Sculpture looks good.	Apprentice Sculpture stands on it's own. Neat glue and painting. Visually interesting	Master Very clean and neat gluing and painting. Very interesting and well constructed.
Project Requirements 1. Use flat 2-d cardboard to create 3-d object. 2. Object is visually interesting and well thought out. 3.Sculpture ressembles intended item. 4. High level of craftsmanship.	Novice none meet.	Intern Some meet.	Apprentice Most meet	Master All meet
Studio Management Cleans work area. Returns tools. Puts supplies away.	Novice Left a mess everyday!	Intern Often left scraps on the table, did not put away tools or paint.	Apprentice Most of the time left work area clean, returned tools and put supplies away.	Master Always cleaned work area. Always returned tools and put supplies away. Cleared table of scraps and debris.
