Small Group Silent Movie
Students are responsible for creating a silent movie in which they add music to enhance the mood of your scene. Students must start frozen and act without words throughout and end on another frozen image.

The actors used only small or normal facial expressions. Actors broke character throughout.

The actors used some different facial expressions but often broke character.

The actors used good facial expressions that were obvious and purposeful, but they sometimes broke character.

The actors used EXAGGERATED AND DRAMATIC facial expressions while staying in character throughout the scene .

Story, Length, Characters
Level 1
There was no story developed. Scene was well under 1 minute long. Little to no effort to create a storyline.
Level 2
Story needs work. Scene wasn't long enough. Either the beginning, middle or end was unclear.
Level 3
Story was well thought out. The scene had a good length.
Level 4
The scene was 1.5-2 minutes long and the story was ABSOLUTELY CLEAR from the beginning to the ending.
Music
Level 1
Music does not fit mood of scene.
Level 2
Some thought was given to music. Does not necessarily fit.
Level 3
Music usually fits the overall mood of the scene.
Level 4
Music enhances the mood of the scene flawlessly.
Rehearsal
Level 1
Group did not work effectively during rehearsal time.
Level 2
Group work was inconsistent and students had to be prompted by teacher.
Level 3
Group work was usually consistent and rarely needed prompts from the teacher.
Level 4
All group members worked together effectively during rehearsal time without prompting. Respect was given to the teacher, classmates and project requirements.
