Fourth Grade Book Report Third and Fourth Grade Book Report Students will need to name the title, author, characters, main events, problem, conclusion and be graded on neatness. They will complete their book report based on which criteria they selected. Each book report must be a different selection over the school year. No book may be used more than one time. Third Grade Book Report Rubric
	Need to improve 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Title and Author	Need to improve Only one of the two are present.	Good Both are present with some spelling or punctuation errors.	Excellent Both are present and neatly written. Spelling and punctuation is correct.
List Setting and Character/s	Need to improve Setting unclear. No characters listed.	Good Setting is clear.<BR> Some characters are listed with spelling errors.	Excellent Setting is clearly explained when and where.<BR> All characters are listed clearly. Spelling is correct.
Problem/Conflict / Conclusion	Need to improve There is no explanation of the problem listed.	Good Basic explanation, no detail.	Excellent Strong and detailed explanation.
Main Event	Need to improve There is no story description. Two complete sentences are not present.	Good Obvious that the student has read the story but the two sentences present are weak and lacking detail.	Excellent The story description is written with two or more strong, detailed, and complete sentences.
Neatness/Punctuation/Grammar	Need to improve Unable to read, poor sentence structure, and lack of punctuation.	Good Legible but messy, adequate sentence structure, contains improper use of punctuation.	Excellent Neatly written, detailed sentence structure, and proper use of punctuation throughout report.
