Components of an Empire	A The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of all concepts and instructions is clearly demonstrated.	B The artwork is planned carefully; understanding of most concepts and instructions is demonstrated.	C The art work is planned adequately; understanding of some concepts and instructions demonstrated.	D The artwork shows little evidence of understanding the concepts and instructions.
Creativity/ Originality	A The artwork demonstrates original personal expession and outstanding problem solving skills.	B The artwork demonstrates some personal expression and logical problem solving skills.	C The artwork demonstrates an average amount of personal expression.	D The artwork demonstrates little personal expression and problem solving skills.
Effort	A The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project well; used class time extremely well.	B The student put forth the effort required to complete the project well; used class time effectively.	C The student put forth the effort required to finish the project; used class time adequately.	D The student put forth little effort required to finish the project; class time was not used well.
Craftsmanship/Skill	A The artwork was beautiful and patiently done; it was as good as hard work could make it.	B With a little more effort, the work could have been outstanding; lacks the finishing touches.	C The student showed average craftsmanship; adequate, but not as good as it could have been, a bit careless	D The student showed below average craftsmanship, lack of pride in finished work
