Accuracy of content	Poor There are several factual errors in the essay, such as not enough inventions researched (minimum of five each for modern and egyptian).	Fair Most inventions and definitions are accurate with few errors, such as missing definitions, missing significance and use of inventions, or failure to note longevity of invention.	Good Research questions: 1.Who invented it? 2.When/Where did this invention happen? 3. Why was this such an important invention? 4.What impact did this invention have on the lives of ancient Egyptians? (or Modern Society if this is a modern invention) 5. How did this invention work (the science of it)? Or, how was this item made (the process of creating it)? 6. How is this invention relevant in today’s society? (Capitani, 2010).
Organization	Poor Inventions are randomly scattered and incomplete. No distinction between modern inventions and Egyptian inventions. no cover page, title, author or cited sources. Many grammatical errors. Research questions are not aligned correctly with inventions, and many of the research questions are not not answered.	Fair Essay is fairly well-organized but a little hard to follow with a few ideas out of place (i.e modern invention listed as an ancient Egyptian invention)Included cover page with title, author, as well as sources, but sources may have a few errors. Few grammatical errors. Research questions may be order, (but correct) and few research questions are unanswered.	Good Essay is well organized. 10 inventions-5 modern/Egyptian are accurate, w/ definitions, significance of invention & longevity. Includes Cover page with a title/author, correctly cited sources w/ no grammatical errors. All research questions are answered in sequence, and match inventions (they are not out of order.)
presentation	Poor refusal to present claims and findings; or may present one or two instead of 10 findings. No eye contact, unwillingness to debate facts.	Fair Presents mostly all claims and findings; may not be able to debate all facts; intermittent eye contact, mumbling or some difficulty understanding presentation.	Good Presents minimum of 10 claims & findings; prepared to debate facts w/ notecards, knowledge of subject, usage of appropriate eye contact, volume & pronunciation.
