Rube Goldberg Rubric Rube Goldberg Rubric The students collaborated to create a Simple Machine Project based on Rube Goldberg specifications. The project should include at least 3 types of simple machines and model demonstrations of each. They should also include an explanation of how the simple machine helps make work easier. They also had to have a compound machine and the description of the simple machines that are in it. Neatness	Apprentice Spelling is incorrect, sloppy writing	Average Mechanic Some incorrect spelling, writing is mostly legible, and pictures are present.	Master Mechanic No incorrect spelling, writing is neat and legible, the pictures are colorful.
Quantity of illustrations	Apprentice There are few to no drawn and colored illustrations of each of the six simple machines.	Average Mechanic There are at least 2 pictures of each of the six simple machines. Most drawings are neatly done.	Master Mechanic There is an illustration for all six simple machines. Ilustrations are neatly done and colored.
Effort	Apprentice This project was rushed through quickly. There is a lack of neatness and pictures.	Average Mechanic This project was done to meet the standards set by the teacher and this can be seen by the quanity of pictures and neatness.	Master Mechanic This project was completed in a timely fashion and goes above the teacher's expectations. This project consists of many pictures (more than the necessary amount) and is very neat and organized.
Definition/explanation	Apprentice Very few definitions or explanations given for simple machine	Average Mechanic All simple machines had definition ; some explanations of how the simple machine could be used were missing.
