Proportion and scale

Poor

Size relationship of objects drawn are incorrect in relation to objects drawn from observation. Grid system clearly inaccurately used.
Fair

Size relationship of objects drawn are partially correct in relation to objects drawn from observation in the grid system. Grid system somewhat used.
Good

Size relationship of positive shapes to negative shapes are mostly correct in relation to objects drawn from observation.
Grid system clearly used with few mistakes.
Excellent

Size relationship of positive to negative shapes are accurately drawn from observation.
Grid system is clearly used with 1 to zero mistakes.
Outline (contour line)

Poor

The line that separates positive shape from negative shape is poorly established. Line is inconsistent with multiple breaks and added or deleted lines.
Fair

The line that separates positive shape from negative shape is poorly established with a few breaks. Some or no additional lines are added. Some lines left out.
Good

The line that separates positive shape from negative shape is correctly established with no breaks. No additional lines are added.
Excellent

The line that separates positive shape from negative shape is correctly established with no breaks. No additional lines are added.
Eraser marks

Poor

No evidence of drawing lightly. The student did not attempt to erase pencil lines.
Fair

No evidence of drawing lightly. The student attempted to erase some pencil marks.
Good

Evidence of trying to draw lightly and student clearly tried to erase with care all pencil marks. Mostly all pencil marks are erased and not noticeable.
Excellent

Evidence of defiantly drawing lightly over 3/4 of picture plane with all pencil marks clearly erased.
Marker/Darkened Areas

Poor

Marker line is drawn over once with no darkened in areas.
Fair

Some areas marker is used to thicken up lines, but randomly done. No thought process in deciding where darker thicker lines should weigh. OR Overuse of marker with no thought.
Good

Evidence of thought given to thickening lines that carry weight. Darkened in areas are well thought out and enhance drawing. Few mistakes.
Excellent

Evidence of clear thought and planning given to areas of weight where thicker lines and medium lines are use to enhance drawing. Darkened areas show evidence of refinement.
Little to zero mistakes.
