Short Answer Grading Rubric Short Answer Grading Rubric When writing your one paragraph short answer for the exam, this is what your answer will be graded on. Short Answer
	Poor (D/F) 1 pts	Fair (C) 2 pts	Above Average (B) 3 pts	Excellent (A) 4 pts
Content 4 pts The content of the paragraph should answer the question and demonstrate understanding and extension of thought	Poor (D/F) Question was not addressed fully and answered with a simple statement. No supporting details or clarification of point or position. Paragraph has many grammatical and spelling errors which makes the answer difficult to understand.	Fair (C) Question was addressed but in general terms only. No details or elaboration supporting answer were given. There are many grammatical and spelling errors which are noticeable and only slightly affect meaning.	Above Average (B) Question was addressed and answered sufficiently with supporting details from the text. There are some grammatical and spelling errors but they do not affect meaning.	Excellent (A) Question was answered correctly, and at some length, with supporting details taken directly from the text. Elaboration of position or addition of a new idea or comparison was included. There are very few grammatical and spelling errors.
