Planning Stage (brainstorms and sketches)	Poor Student did not brainstorm or make preliminary sketches.	Fair Student had a few ideas and sketches. Student did not receive peer and teacher feedback well.	Good Student had multiple brainstorms and sketches, but could have improved on quality of sketches. Student accepted peer and teacher feedback.	Excellent Student used class time wisely. Had multiple brainstormed ideas and sketches. Sketches were done neatly and student received used peer and teacher feedback to make changes to their design.
Final Design	Poor Student did not complete a final design or design is largely incomplete	Fair Students design is complete but careless or missing elements. Improvements could have been made.	Good Student's final design is complete with a few minor mistakes	Excellent Final design is clear and nest. A cubist style design of conflict is visible and clean.
Context Exploration	Poor Student did not explore the cultural context of their own life. No ideas were presented and little research was conducted into their own history	Fair Student conducted research into the cultural context of their own life, but very little was presented in the final project.	Good Student effort into conducting research into the context of their life was evident and adequately applied to their final piece.
