Student Expectations Evaluation 
The following rubric shows what is expected of students during class periods. Where dictated, a grade of I (incomplete) will result in a final grade of D or below.

Students are expected to attend every class period. (disregarding predetermined or uncontrollable circumstances).

Has poor attendance of classes, missing on average 1 class period a week.

Promptness

Students should be able to get to class on time (disregarding predetermined or uncontrollable circumstances).

Late to class on average once every 2 weeks.

Always prompt for class.
Preparation

Students are expected to show up to class with all materials & supplies required for the class; as determined by the teacher. This includes items the teacher may ask for students to bring on a day to day basis.

Student never shows up prepared for class; ie. brings materials & supplies required for participation in class and/or completion of classwork. Failure to come to class prepared will result in a final grade of Poor.

Student rarely shows up to class with even the most common materials & supplies required for the class.
C.....B-

Student shows up to class with most common materials & supplies required for the class.
B.....B+

Most of the time student shows up to class with materials & supplies required for the class.

Student shows up to class with all materials & supplies required for the class.
Individual Assignments

Students should be able to demonstrate evidence of understanding verbally and in writing.

Partial assignments completed. Put forth some effort and tried to work some of the assignment. Depending on the circumstances failure to complete assignments will result in a final grade of Poor.

Assignments not turned in or showed no effort during group work.
C.....B-

Most assignments completed and/or many errors. Work sometimes late or incomplete.
B.....B+

All assignments completed but with some errors. Put forth a good effort. Work is rarely or never late.
A (-/+)

All assignments completed with no/few errors. Showed work on assignment. Put forth a lot of effort. Work is always neat and on time.
Attributes
Effort/Participation

Students are expected to participate in class and do the best they can 100% of the time.

I

Often has to be asked to complete tasks or assignments. Only participates when called on.

Does not complete tasks or assignments even with prompting from the teacher. Doesn't participate in classwork or discussions.
C.....B-

Does just enough to get by. Completes tasks but not timely. Student is slow to participate and contribute.
B.....B+

Completes tasks in timely manner, participates &contributes for 75% of class time, especially when called on. Should participate in class discussions more.

Completes tasks in a positive way. Constantly active in participation and contributes for 90% or more of class time.
Cooperation

Students should be able to get along with others, share, listen to ideas & opinions of others, and follow class & school rules & procedures.

Student does not cooperate with teacher and/or other students. Student is disruptive and argumentative. Failure to cooperate with the teacher and students will result in a final grade of Poor.
F.....D

Does not follow directions and rules. Argues with classmates and/or teacher. Does not cooperate with or help other classmates when doing group work. Distracts others often.
C.....B-

Usually follows directions and rules but needs to cooperate more with teacher and/or classmates. Minimal interaction with others during group work.
B.....B+

Follows directions and rules for the majority of class. Listens to and shares ideas. Does not distract others from learning.
A (-/+)

Follows directions and rules entire class time. Encourages other students to learn. Listens to and shares ideas. Does not distract others from learning.
Critical/Creative Thinking

Students should be able to think clearly and logically to solve problems and form conclusions based on observations & evidence.

I

Demonstrates little evidence of clear or creative thinking. Actions seem to be based on static reactions, or are simply mimicked from teacher or other students.
F.....D

Demonstrates no evidence of clear thought or knowledge of content. Shows no evidence of being able to think critically or use observations to make conclusions.
C.....B-

Demonstrates some evidence of clear thought and has knowledge of content. Needs to use observations more to form conclusions about content.
B.....B+

Demonstrates clear thought most of the time and can explain most of the content/answers with evidence, needing reminders for the rest.
A (-/+)

Demonstrates clear thought the majority of the time and can explain your answers with evidence.
