Participation	Excellent The student quietly sits while the teacher is reading the book. Notes are being taken as told, as well as writing down the correct number of adjectives to help relate back to the text.	Average The student some what quietly sits while the teacher is reading the book.Some distractions are made to other students. Notes are taken on and off as the teacher is reading, as well as writing some adjectives down to help relate back to the text.	Poor The student does not sit quietly while the teacher is reading to the group and distracts all other students on the mat. No notes are being taken while the teacher is reading to relate back to the text.
Group Activity	Excellent When placed in a group, the student is engaging with other students, as well as contributing to the group. Enthusiasm is shown when asked to act out certain tasks.	Average When placed in a group, the student is somewhat engaging with other students, as well as minimally participating in the group. Little to no enthusiasm is show when asked to act out certain tasks.	Poor When placed in a group, the student does not participate or talk to contribute to the group.
