Face Jug 
Using the concept of Appalachian Face Jugs, students will create a ceramic mug using slab construction techniques. Facial features will then be applied. Students will aspire to make the most outrageously ugly faces possible.

The glaze application is very neat and even. No bare clay spots are evident.

Not enough coats of glaze were applied. Areas are still transparent. The application of glaze is choppy and could have been put on more evenly.

The glaze was applied very fast and does not look intentional. Messy application looks unfinished.
Effort

Good

The student made an excellent effort to complete the project to the very best of their ability.
Fair

The student put forth a good effort to complete the project well.
Incomplete (Poor)

The student made little to no effort to complete the project.
Work Attitude

Good

Student was totally engaged in the project and very enthusiastic about working on it.
Fair

Student was enthusiastic about the project and enjoyed the process of working on it.
Incomplete (Poor)

Student was bored and apathetic about the project.
