Knowledge of Art History connection
A (100-90)
Student demonstrates their knowledge of art history by verbally answering the teachers questions correctly during the lesson, and additionally demonstrates an understanding of the techniques of traditional sumi-e artists by including elements of such in their artwork.
B (89-80)
Student demonstrates their knowledge of art history by verbally answering the teachers questions sufficiently during the lesson, and additionally demonstrates a sincere attempt as to the techniques of traditional sumi-e artists
C (79-70)
Student demonstrates their knowledge of art history by verbally answering the teachers questions satisfactorily during the lesson, and additionally demonstrates an idea of the techniques that traditional sumi-e artists use.
D (69-60)
Student demonstrates their knowledge of art history by verbally answering the teachers questions insufficiently during the lesson. Additionally, the student does not demonstrate any understanding of the techniques of sumi-e artists, but does create a painting.
F (59 or Lower)
Student does not demonstrate knowledge of art history by not answering the teachers questions during the lesson and does not complete a painting nor attempts to understand the technique.
Critique
A (100-90)
Student hangs a complete painting up for critique and gives their classmates respectful, meaningful and thoughtful criticism about their works.
B (89-80)
Student hangs a complete painting up for critique and gives their fellow classmates respect and some criticism about their works.
C (79-70)
Student hangs a complete painting up for critique, but gives little criticism to their classmates.
D (69-60)
Students hangs their painting up for critique but does not offer any criticism to their classmates.
F (59 or Lower)
Students does not hang their painting up for critique, nor gives their classmates any criticism about their artworks.
