Basic Motivation Scenario Discussion Topic Discussion Rubric This rubric will be used to grade your contributions to the Leadership and Motivation Unit "Using Basic Motivation" scenario discussions. 	Below Expectations 0 pts	Approaching Target 2 pts	On Target 3 pts	Exemplary/Mastery 4 pts
Quality of Comments 16 pts	Below Expectations Does not participate and/or only makes negative or disruptive remarks; comments are inappropriate or off topic.	Approaching Target Struggles but participates, occasionally offers a comment when directly questioned, may simply restate questions or points previously raised, may add nothing new to the discussion or provoke no responses or questions.	On Target Participates by adding comments to the group discussion that are on topic and may spark further discussion, some comments may lack depth and may not be on topic.	Exemplary/Mastery Thoughtful and reflective comments are made in a timely and appropriate manner; responds respectfully to other students' remarks, stays on the topic of the scenario and motivations, provokes questions and comments from the group.
Active Participation 16 pts	Below Expectations Does not post a comment on the topic of the scenario, or fails to include anything about the motivations of autonomy, mastery, or purpose.	Approaching Target Posts an original comment at least partly on the topic of the scenario and motivations, but does not respond to others' ideas or comments.	On Target Original post is on topic, and responds to the comments of a few others.	Exemplary/Mastery Posts are on topic, student absorbs and responds to what was shared by several other classmate; sustains discussions and interactions between peers; comments have enthusiastic tone, and use powerful word choice.
Time Management 16 pts	Below Expectations Posts are not made during the assignment.	Approaching Target The original post is made on time, so other students can respond.	On Target The original post and comments to the posts of others are made on time during the assignment.	Exemplary/Mastery The original post, comments to the posts of others, and follow-up comments are all made during the assigned time.
