Story Swap Story Swap Students will swap the key events and setting of two stories. The first story is one the student chooses. The second story must be created by the students. Students must identify the main events of each story and then write them in the other style. Students will ensure that each new story uses appropriate vocabulary, syntax, and style for what it is now. Short story	Poor Story does not make sense; does not follow a plot; descriptive and narrative words are not used.	Fair Plot is clear but underdeveloped; some elements of story do not add to story; some descriptive and narrative words are used but more would be welcome.	Good Plot is clear and detectable; all elements of story thicken the plot.
Setting	Poor Did not adress setting.	Fair Could have described setting in more detail. Did not fully explain time and place.	Good Fully addressed setting, which includes, time and place. Focus on using specific details.
Maintaining Elements	Poor Student added or subtracted details of the story outside of creative license; student did not add necessary/appropriate new elements if need be, creating awkward gaps; stories now appear to be on two different topics.	Fair Student added or subtracted a few unnecessary elements but it is clear that stories focus on the same event(s); there were one or two small gaps that could have used more detail.	Good Student maintained key elements of both stories; added or subtracted additional details appropriate to each story.
