Political Campaign Ads Groups will create a presidential campaign ad to support their respective candidate.
	Super 5 pts	Average 3 pts	Poor 1 pts
Candidate Candidate's name and party affiliation shown	Super Group projected candidate's name and party affiliation at the beginning using large, bold, easy-to-read text. Was obvious who the candidate was and which party he belonged to.	Average Group projected candidate's name and party affiliation somewhere in presentation; somewhat obvious who the candidate was and what party he belongs to	Poor Group at least named the candidate and/or their party affiliation. Text difficult to read; misspelled words; etc.
Persuasion Convincing voters to support your candidate	Super Ad established a strong awareness of who their "target" audience was. Students understood why they chose vocabulary, music and images to support that audience.	Average Ad showed some awareness of the "target" audience. Students can partially explain why they made decisions on vocabulary, music and images that they did.	Poor Ad showed very limited awareness about the audience. Who was the target audience? Students made no connection between vocabulary, music and images with an audience.
Truth Ad using facts?	Super Presents multiple specific factual claims with clear references to multiple reliable sources.	Average Presents a limited number of general factual claims with minimal reference to sources.	Poor Presents one factual claim with no reference to source.
Production Value Quality of the Ad	Super The camera work is smooth and the focus is crisp. Sound and visual files are distortion free. Transitions are timed for smooth movement between scenes. Titles are legible. There are few technical problems, and none of a serious nature.	Average The camera work may be choppy or panning is too fast. Sound and visual files may have some distortion but it doesn't distract the viewer. There are some technical problems, but the viewer is able to follow the presentation.	Poor The camera work is choppy and the scenes are blurry or panning is too fast. Sound and visual files contain significant distortion. Transitions are awkward between scenes. Titles are illegible. Technical difficulties seriously interfere with the viewer's ability to see, hear, or understand content.
