Pumpkin Face Abstract Pumpkin This project requires students to design a pumpkin with crayon and then create a personality using magazines to design a face. Rubric Code: EX6CAB3 By justal Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Arts and Design Type: Project Grade Levels: 9-12

Art Project

Effort	Level 4 Evidence of an exceptional effort with exceptional detail to gluing, cutting out the magazine, using space/ balance, etc.	Level 3 Evidence of a general effort but it can be improved upon with a little more effort (ie, gluing, cut outs, balance, etc.)	Level 2 Artwork can be improved upon with some effort (ie, gluing, cut outs, balance, etc.)	Level 1 The student put forth little effort required to finish the project.
Pumpkin/Element of Lines	Level 4 Pumpkin is completely coloured-in with orange crayons. The crayon colouring is consistent and exceptional. The shading defines the curves of the pumpkin.	Level 3 Pumpkin is completely coloured-in with orange crayons. The crayon colouring is consistent. The shading defines the curves of the pumpkin.	Level 2 Some of the pumpkin is completely coloured-in with orange crayons. The crayon colouring is somewhat consistent. There is some shading to define the curves of the pumpkin.	Level 1 The pumpkin is missing curves. The crayon colouring is not consistent. Very limited shading to define the curves of the pumpkin.
Creativity	Level 4 The face is obvious: 2 eyes, nose and a mouth and extra detail is added to create a personality. The artwork demonstrates unique originality.	Level 3 The face is obvious: 2 eyes, nose and a mouth. The artwork demonstrates originality.	Level 2 The face is missing some of the basic requirements of 2 eyes, nose and a mouth. The artwork demonstrates some originality.	Level 1 There is no face on the pumpkin. The artwork demonstrates limited originality.
