Composition/Understanding	BEGINNER No clear thought to composition- appears to be a sketch or study objects fills less than 50% of the page.	INTERMEDIATE Objects fills 50% of the page. Objects are not well planned and objects are not logically placed. Some objects appear to look 3-D.	PROFICIENT Objects fill most of the page. Arrangement is interesting and well planned. Most of the objects appear 3-D.	ADVANCED Objects fill the whole page. It is interesting and planned carefully. All objects appear 3-D.
Technique	BEGINNER Little to no shading is apparent. Objects are more about Line and not Value.	INTERMEDIATE Shows little range of values (1-3). Most of the drawings have rough shading on them.	PROFICIENT Shows 3-4 values of shading. Missing some areas of value.	ADVANCED Clearly and consistently shows varying values from 1-5 on the value scale. All objects are smoothly shaded.
Creativity & Craftsmanship	BEGINNER The artwork lacks evidence of personal expression. Objects shows signs of neglect that demonstrate the student's lack of patience in the work.	INTERMEDIATE The artwork demonstrates a small amount of personal expression. Objects are simply copied from an internet image or they are quickly finished.	PROFICIENT The artwork demonstrates some personal expression. Objects show some original additions different from an internet image.	ADVANCED The artwork demonstrates original personal expression. Great care has been taken by the student to present an original work of art.
Effort	BEGINNER The student put forth little effort or the project was not completed; class time or out of class time was not used well.	INTERMEDIATE The student put forth minimal effort required to finish the project; used class time or out of class time inadequately.	PROFICIENT The student put forth the effort required to complete the project. They used class time or out of class time well.	ADVANCED The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project as well as possible. They used class time or out of class time extremely well.
