Line Variety Part 1

Jagged, curved, broken, dashed, spiral, straight, wavy, zigzag lines

Level 1

Two different types of lines were used instead of the required 3. Artwork is not finished in a satisfactory manner.

Of the 3 lines created, 2 lines are distinctive. Artwork is lacking finishing touches or it can be improved upon with some effort (gluing, separation of boxes using marker, etc)

Variation of lines were used to show changes throughout design, but could have been stronger with more variety of characteristics. A general effort but it can be improved upon with a little effort (gluing, separation of lines, etc)

Each line shows a variety of line characteristics. Variation of lines were used to show changes throughout design. Exceptional effort is displayed with craftsmanship (gluing, separation of lines, etc.)
Line Design Part 3

Work finished to the best of the students ability, and is neat with few stray marks and no tears/folds.

Level 1

No thought has been given to the arrangement of objects. The design is uninteresting and objects do not create interesting space.
The design is unfinished or appears messy and needs attention. Student did not use class time wisely.
Level 2

Some thought was given to the arrangement of lines but the composition does not have sufficient variation.
Artwork could be improved or cleaned up. Some areas of the design may need further attention.
Level 3

Thought was given to the arrangement of lines in order to achieve variety.
Artwork is used carefully and skillfully and the design is completely finished.
Level 4

The student tried unusual combinations and demonstrated outstanding problem-solving skills.
Artwork is designed carefully and skillfully. Student used class time to their advantage and
took pride in going well beyond the requirements.
