Colour Wheel and Original Painting Rubric 
The student will create a colour wheel and he/she will mix and paint the correct primary and secondary colours on the circle in the correct position. The second art piece applies this knowledge to an original painting which demonstrates the primary and secondary colours.

Colours have been placed on the artwork but craftsmanship needs improvement. Colours have not been mixed correctly. Artwork is messy and shows either smudge marks, rips, etc.

-5 to 6 congruent smaller images overlapping
-layout of images are balanced on the paper; not too much white background

Level 4

Student completed the assignment following all the directions exactly. The artwork reflects a high level of originality. Theme is evident.

Student completed the assignment following the directions exactly. The artwork reflects originality. Theme is evident.
Level 2

Student completed the assignment missing some aspects. The artwork reflects some level of originality. Theme is somewhat evident.
Level 1

Student failed to follow directions, did not finish in the required time or is missing significant sections. Theme is unclear.
