My Journey through the Human Body System 
Student will create a project to demonstrate his/her knowledge about an assigned human body system. Student will address all of the organs in the system, the functions within the body system and why the body system is important for survival. A one page written, or half page typed (double space) report on how the system works will be required as part of the project. An oral presentation of their project to explain and answer questions on their system will be a portion of their grade.

Artwork and diagrams are included. Two or more mediums are used in the project but no extra color, or detail is utilized to draw interest. The project is neat but basic, giving the impression that not much planning or time went into creating it.
Proficient

The project is colorful, detailed, and original artwork and diagrams are used. There are three or more mediums used for interest and diversity. The project is neat and well planned out showing care and time went into creating it. However it lacks a "WOW" factor that would have shown the student went beyond expectations with their project.
Advanced

The project is colorful, detailed, and original artwork and diagrams are used along with text. There are three or more unique mediums used to create interest and diversity. The project has unexpected aspects that give it a "WOW" factor showing that the student went above and beyond what was expected. The project in complete in every way, neat, and well planned out. Fantastic!!
Written Report

Beginning Steps

An attempt to hand in a written or typed report was made on your body system. There were many mistakes in grammar and C.O.P.S. Paper was not the appropriate length.
Nearing Proficient

Report was written or typed, but was not quite long enough. The information about the body system was loosely put together, and information was basic. Only 2-3 mistakes in grammar and C.O.P.S.
Proficient

Report met the criteria of hand-written or typed pages. Information on the body system was well put together and content was thorough but not exceptional. Had 1 mistake in C.O.P.S.
Advanced

Report met the criteria of hand-written or typed pages. Information on the body system was well thought out and content was exceptional and interesting. There are no C.O.P.S. mistakes.
Presentation

Class Presentation of Human Body System

Beginning Steps

An attempt was made at presenting the project on the assigned human body system. Little to no eye contact was made and voice level was low or inaudible. Student was unable to explain project to the other students in an acceptable manner. Could not easily answer questions about their assigned body system.
Nearing Proficient

Student was able to present their assigned human body system project, and explain the project in a basic but understandable manner to the other students in the class. The presentation contained all necessary information, but lacked enthusiasm and vocal cues, and adequate eye contact. Student could answer some of the questions about their assigned body system without relying on their project information report.
Proficient

Human body system project presentation completed in a confident manner with good voice level and eye contact. The information given about the project was interesting and thorough. The student was able to answer most of the questions about his or her body system with confidence. Overall the student gave a very good presentation.
Advanced

The student gave a fantastic presentation that centered around their assigned body system and their project. they had wonderful eye contact and voice level throughout. The student was very knowledgeable about his/her system and could easily answer all questions related to their system with ease and confidence.
