Foundations: Grid and Pet Portrait 
Student's were assigned to graph and draw a pet portrait using pencil . They had a total of 5 classes to complete it. Students were to demonstrate their understanding of value, line, and blending. Student were also asked to present their work at the highest level of craftsmanship.

Student did not always use the pencil options but did try to manipulate the medium. There are areas of the work that are very different from their original.

Line quality and interpretation of texture

Exceeding

Student's line quality is excellent. It captures and interprets the animal's texture on their body. Materials have different qualities, example: fur as a opposed to eyeballs are approached with different strategies.

Student did some line work to create a texture. More of this work would help enhance the texture of the animal.

Very little line quality is evident in the work. More would bring the animal's texture to life.
Minimally Meeting

There was almost no intentional texture incorporated in the design. Student needs to work and look more closely at subject and how to connect these ideas to the viewer.
Craftsmanship/ Skill

Execution of Ideas, application of products. Artwork is clean. The lines are carefully created considering the final product. The student erased any stray marks or guidelines.

The artwork shows outstanding craftsmanship,with clear attention to detail.

Pencil marks are neat and not messy. Stray marks and fingerprints are erased.

The artwork shows good craftsmanship, with some attention to detail.

Addition of pencil could be better created. It was not overtly messy but looks rushed.
