Basic elements 2 pts	Excellent There is an introduction which transitions us into the essay. The speaker & the title of the video are mentioned. There are 750 words or more, an objective elaboration of the video, & a clear separation between facts in the video & writer's opinions/reflection. There is a reflection & a conclusion.	Good One element is missing.	Fair Two elements are missing.	Poor Three or more elements are missing.
Summary 3 pts You should find at least 2 major points in the 1st essay.	Excellent Summary is objective & factual and covers major points. It is done at a meta-level.	Good Misses being objective, factual or covering a major point.	Fair Misses two elements.	Poor Writer uses too much detail and fails to find major point.
Elaboration 2 pts	Excellent Writer describes one or more examples given by the speaker. Description is easy to follow and objective.	Good One of these elements is missing.	Fair Two elements are missing	Poor There is no elaboration of points made in the video.
Reflection 3 pts	Excellent Writer gives an opinion, questions the video, shares an experience or otherwise interacts in some way with the video.	Good Tries to interact but is missing one of the elements.	Fair Writer misunderstands the directions	Poor No interaction.
