	Poor 10 pts	Fair 15 pts	Good 20 pts	Excellent 25 pts
Animal/Insect	Poor Soap carving does not represent drawing. Animal or Insect is blocky.	Fair Soap carving represents some of the drawing used. Animal or Insect is slightly blocky.	Good Soap carving represents drawing of animal/insect used. Animal or Insect is not blocky, but rounded off.	Excellent Animal or Insect is highly recognizable and shares realistic features with its reference photograph or drawing.
Details	Poor Student drew or did not include any details in the soap.	Fair Student drew more than carved out details in soap.	Good Student carved some details into soap such as fur, scales, eyes and so on.	Excellent Students work represents a beautiful subtractive sculpture and contains all the details represented in the animal or insect. All various textures of the animal or insect are represented.
Craftsmanship	Poor Student took too much off of soap.	Fair Student show some good soap carving skills. Too much soap may have been taken away from from animal.	Good Student used excellent soap carving skills such as subtracting small amounts of the soap.	Excellent Student used carving techniques that shows no stray knife cuts. The sculpture shows no evidence of mistakes.
