STEM-Finding the Area of Shapes/Sails STEM-Finding the Area of Shapes/Sails Students will demonstrate their knowledge of measuring sails and calculating the area of each shape/sail in square centimeters. They will then calculate the area and draw each sail on graph paper as they calculate the area. Accuracy of Results	A* Students exceeded teacher's expectations. There were no mistakes in student answers. Students assisted other partners with work. All labels were correct.	A Students showed their work and came up with the correct answers for all aspects of the activities	B Students showed their work and came up with Students sometimes had the right answers, and sometimes showed how they arrived at those answers.	C The students did not accurately measure the area. There was no evidence to back up their answers. There were no labels used.
Accuracy of Procedure/Process	A* Students exceeded teacher's expectations. There were no mistakes . Students assisted other group members with procedures.	A Students followed all instructions. Students asked for help when needed.	B Students sometimes had errors. Sometimes, students were not following instructions. Students sometimes asked for help when confused.	C Students did not follow instructions. Student work had many errors. Students did not ask for help when needed.
Questioning_Participation	A* Students exceeded teacher's expectations. Students discussed their area results using appropriate vocabulary. They worked well with their group during the activity.	A Students were actively engaged in all aspects of the activity.They worked well with their group members and offered their insights about figuring area.	B Students seemed some what engaged, but were off-task for part of the activity.	C Students were not involved with their group members. They did not participate in group discussions.
