Students will design a postcard to represent the setting of the short story "The Mist"

Students will present a PowerPoint presentation of a pattern of symbolism in King Lear.

Students will create a poster illustrating a phrase made popular by Shakespeare.

Students are to create a movie trailer to demonstrate an understanding of the element of plot.

Every month the student will complete a book report on a library book at the sixth grade level. The student has chosen to participate in "Book It" this month. This option allows the student to complete a detailed report on a book of their choice. For their extra effort, the student will be rewarded with a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. GT students must participate in "Book It". Students with a failing grade will not be rewarded. To receive credit the rubric must be attached to the top of the book report.

Students will write an original free verse poem inspired by the prompt "With our Own two hands" Minimum requirements: 10 lines, 5 poetic/sound devices. Due Thurs .Jan. 18.

Students select the kind of sonnet and write an original sonnet based on that structure. They are expected to employ various poetic devices and produce a polished piece of poetry.
