Students will prepare and present a short reader's theatre story.

This menu is to get students to think outside the box and create a fun, exciting and healthy menu that would get students to excited to eat at the cafeteria. The focus on menu items are healthy items using Canada's and/or Mexico's Food Guide

Student must design a healthy menu that includes healthy options and reflect a balanced menu. Menu must include: an appetizer, an entree, a beverage, a dessert (optional). Think fresh, think Healthy!

You are a student at a boarding school. As a part time job, you have been hired to work in the school cafeteria. Your first assignment is to plan the menu for the following week. Being a boarding school, the cafeteria serves three meals a day as well as snacks. Review how many portions, from each food group, students your age should eat everyday in “Mon guide alimentaire”. Use this information to help you fill in the chart. Next, pick one day from your menu, and complete a liste d’épicerie. Finally, Mme Dennis questions your choices for the menu. Write ten sentences to explain why your choices are healthy. Use the valeur nutritive or les ingrédients to help you.

Students will create an "English video" that will be 2 to 3 minutes in length. A role-play, soap-opera, product, movie trailer, etc. The video must include each partner speaking 120 words of English. All members of the team will contribute and participate in the video. You may use others for your video. The final script due 24/11/2014 the video is due 01/12/2014.

Students will create a menu for their school cafeteria and county food service manager.

Purpose: In order to more successfully contribute to community and society at large, you should be current on issues, controversies and events. Being an informed citizen and discussing current events will give you a better perspective on different points of view. You will examine what is happening right now in our country and try to make connections to the past, present, future, and ourselves. Each student will complete the current events assignment individually.

This rubric evaluates student participation and appropriateness within the classroom.

Students will create a cooking show reflecting a dish from the country of their choices.

The students will record a cooking show. The recording is 3 to 5 minutes in spoken Spanish. Students will turn in a proposal with all the details for the cooking show for approval. This project is due on 2/26, 2/27. This will be graded as this unit's test.

Working solo or in pairs, students will produce a cooking show that details the cooking process for a traditional Chinese dish.
