This is a rubric for a 3rd Grade project in Geography. Students create a map of the different landforms within the United States, appropriately placing where each one should be.

Students are selecting an animal, researching and writing about their animal. The report should tell about where their animal lives, what their animal eats, what their animal looks like, and any interesting fun facts about their animal. Students will write their report notes on pre-printed word webs and then write a simple report.

Opinion Paragraph on one topic, include a sentence showing the students opinion, 3 reasons to support it and a conclusion sentence that restates the opinion.

Focus Standards: W.3.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences. L.3.1 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standards English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
