You will be researching and presenting via powerpoint the events leading up to the American Revolution and the battles fought during the American Revolution. You will need to include: When did it take place? Where did it take place? Why did it happen? Who was involved (general groups and specific major players involved)? What happened and the reactions to it? How did it lead to the Revolutionary War?

Before and during the American Revolution, many American colonists were torn between wanting independence from England and remaining loyal to King George III. Those who wanted independence were patriots. Those who wanted to remain loyal were loyalists. It has now come to a vote. Students will conduct a town meeting where they will debate and voice their opinions based on facts about whether or not they should join the revolution or support the King.

Loyalists vs. Patriots research the reasons and causes of the Revolutionary War and find facts that support their side. After researching, they hold a debate in front of the "jury" - another group of kids

The students will work with a partner and put together a recruitment poster for one of the 13 original colonies. The poster will contain the name of their colony, who founded the colony and when, one picture or symbol representing the main industry, one interesting fact and at least one convincing reason why immigrants should settle in their colony.

When writing your short answer for the exam, this is what your answer will be graded on. Short answer questions are worth 5-6 points each.
