Students will write an informative/explanatory essay based upon writing prompt and sources provided from teacher.

Students will create Google Slide presentation. Research based upon Native American contributions, beliefs, and traditions to American history. Grade will be based on content, organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, mechanics, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

The persuasive essay must contain 5 fully developed supporting paragraphs. You should incorporate persuasive strategies and voice in your writing.

A summary is a shortened version of a longer reading that tells the problem or main idea(s) of the reading and the supporting details. Summaries are short, write about the problem/main idea(s), use your words and key words from the text by paraphrasing and do not include your feelings or opinions about a topic only the character/s. The rubric below reflects how well you were able to demonstrate understanding of writing a summary.
