This course teaches you to be self reliant and take responsibility for yourself. It teaches you time management as well. It explains the differences between victims and creators and teaches you not to be a victim.
Diversity Workshop
At the diversity workshop we learned about all of the different kinds of people around us. The whole time, basically, different categories of people were called out and when yours was called you would stand up and everyone would clap for you. It showed how diverse the population of Tri-County is. The diversity workshop was required to pass this course. I really enjoyed the diversity workshop because it allowed us to be honest with ourselves and everyone else about who we are without being judged. We could show pride in who we are and be cheered for it.
Poetry Reading
I went to a poetry reading one Monday and it was really good. I cannot remember the teacher’s name that was in charge but he said he was currently the only creative writing teacher. He was very interesting. Not many people brought in poetry because everyone was shy, but once one person read a poem people got online and found some of their poems and read them. It was really fun.
