In this course you will learn about the study of human social behavior. You will learn of why people act a certain way, how different societies function, and why they function the way they do. You will also learn of how our society and economy has evolved over the years. This course answers many of those “but why?” questions that many people have concerning the society we live in.

Reflection
Writing this essay about the differentiation between “cause and effect” in the terms of sociology and English was very beneficial. I was able to put a connection between the two classes, while at the same time, realizing how many different point of views a certain topic can have. It did take me awhile to separate these different views, and that became frustrating at times. I had to sit down and write about how cause and effect was taught in each class separately before I was able to actually contrast them in one paper. But this process really helped me to understand “cause and effect” in each class even further than I normally would have. And that was evident in my grades in each class.
My final draft ended up coming out better than expected. My thoughts came across clear and my point was evident. I was very pleased with the outcome. Grammar is still a fight for me though and something I will have to continue to work on. Also, putting more technical information into my papers rather than personal thoughts would probably make my papers more valid, so this is something I will also continue to work on. I don’t expect my writing to ever be perfect, but I will continue strengthening my skills as time goes on.
