Students in a fifth grade class will develop a new character that they believe would fit into the Harry Potter series. Students will create a “bio” on their character using an online concept map listing at least five details about their character, write a short story incorporating/introducing the character into the books using Microsoft Word, and will “draw” a picture of their chosen character, either by hand, or verbally, using descriptive words. On the final day, students will do a 5-8 minute presentation to the class. Each student will introduce the class to their character, read/summarize their short story, and tell us how they were inspired to create this character.
